Our Story
Leden began with a vision of creating designs that capture and share the beauty of our surroundings
Since 2016
Where it started
Lydia started Leden in 2016 with a small range of artwork shared through local markets. From there Leden has quickly grown to include a wide collection of designs, focused on interior styling.
In 2022, Luke stepped into the business to help Leden reach a wider audience. As siblings and business partners, Luke and Lydia complement each other’s strengths, cherishing their collaboration - rooted in their close upbringing.
Today you can find us at our small studio based in Auckland (NZ) where we produce all our designs. At the heart of our business, we are a small team that loves creating beautiful products that we can share with our customers through New Zealand, Australia, and around the globe.
Founder & Artist
Lydia Batts
Growing up on a small orchard filled with fruit trees and wildflowers sparked Lydia's fascination with nature's beauty and its emotional depth. She treasured the world her parents created: a handcrafted wooden chair nestled among towering hollyhocks, an art studio brimming with creative mediums, and a garden filled with every imaginable tree. With her mother’s love for flowers and her father's dedication to horticulture, she found endless inspiration for her art. Lydia continued to create throughout her childhood and school years, always finding joy in making people smile.
In 2012, she completed her studies and moved to Auckland, where she met her husband, Will. After settling there, she began creating and sharing a limited range of artwork. Today, as the Creative Director, Lydia has the privilege of developing new designs, drawing inspiration from nature, and her amazing Leden community. She hopes everyone loves her creations and is always open to new ideas.
